Club source claims EPL rivals will return with summer bid for 'powerful' Leeds colossus - report

West Ham will table a fresh bid for Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips at the end of the season, according to a fresh transfer report.

The Whites midfielder’s future has been up in the air throughout this season, with a move elsewhere potentially happening in the summer.

West Ham were keen on signing Phillips in the January transfer window, reportedly making bids for him but ultimately failing in their efforts.

There looks set to be a potential battle for the 26-year-old’s signature in the coming months, and it seems that the Hammers’ interest isn’t going away.

According to Football Insider, David Moyes will again look to snap up Phillips this summer, with a West Ham source claiming that he is still ‘on their radar’.

The Irons are willing to offer the Leeds colossus an ‘enormous salary’, partnering him with England colleague Declan Rice, should the 23-year-old remain at the east London club.

It remains to be seen how willing Phillips is to leave Elland Road in the summer, but surely relegation to the Championship would spell the end of his time at Leeds.

West Ham would likely be able to promise England’s reigning Player of the Year European football of some kind for 2022/23, barring a poor end to the season, and the lure of testing himself at a higher level could appeal to the 26-year-old, who was called a “powerful” player by former Whites boss Neil Redfearn.

Phillips may believe that he is capable of playing for an even better team than West Ham, so it may be the case that he waits for one of the true Premier League heavyweights to make a move for him.
