Clonmel card cancelled after further rain
This afternoon's meeting at Clonmel has been called off, with the sodden track deemed unfit for racing.
Lorcan Wyer, IHRB clerk of the course at Clonmel said: "Following an inspection this morning, and a further 5mm of rain overnight, the track at Clonmel is now unfit for racing.
"Unfortunately with an unfavourable forecast for more heavy rain this afternoon, we have no option but to cancel the meeting scheduled for today."
Across the Irish Sea, this afternoon's meeting at Warwick has been abandoned due to waterlogging.
Southwell’s Thursday card is set to go ahead as scheduled after the course passed a precautionary check at 7.30am.
Further disruption looks likely heading into the weekend, with Friday’s meetings at Wexford and Wetherby subject to inspections and Saturday’s Premier Raceday at Kelso also under threat.
