Cleveland Browns: WR Donovan Peoples-Jones pulls off insane catch during minicamp

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones has pulled off an incredible horizontal catch during minicamp.

To say that the Cleveland Browns are in something of a sticky situation right now might be something of an understatement as they continue their work ahead of the 2022 NFL season.

With everything that is going on regarding Deshaun Watson which has dominated not only their preseason but also that of the entire NFL, combined with the continuing reports about what is set to happen with Baker Mayfield and the quarterback position, the most important position in the sport, and the Browns aren’t exactly in the best of positions as they prepare for this season.

And depending on how things play out surrounding both Watson and Mayfield, they might have to get rather desperate at quarterback, meaning that their wide receivers will have to take on most of the responsibility in the passing game.

Thankfully, Donovan Peoples-Jones is showing that he could well be in position to do just that with his latest catch during their preseason activities.

In what was a down year for the Browns in 2021, falling back to 8-9 and 3rd in the AFC North following their trip to the playoffs in 2020, Peoples-Jones was one of the few bright sparks to come out of their campaign.

He led the team in receiving yards with 597, which is impressive considering he ranked 5th when it came to overall receptions with just 34 – so an average of just 2 per game – which meant that he averaged a very impressive 17.6 yards per catch, which was 3rd amongst all receivers in the league:

Holy smokes. Baker Mayfield launches a Hail Mary and Donovan Peoples-Jones comes down with it! pic.twitter.com/EucELAu2lq

Perhaps if they’d have thrown his way a little
