Claressa Shields vs Savannah Marshall: American accuses British rival of being 'so disrespectful'

Boxing GWOAT Claressa Shields has accused Savannah Marshall of being ‘so disrespectful’ as the war of words between the pair rumbles on.

Shields, 26, and 30-year-old Marshall were separated by security during Shields’ post-fight interview after the American successfully defended her IBF, WBA and WBC middleweight titles against Slovenian Ema Kozin, 23.

The Michigan native, who is widely regarded as the greatest female fighter of all time, has signed a two-fight deal with Ben Shalom’s BOXXER and Sky Sports that will see her face Marshall for the belts later this year.

However, to set up the all-female super-fight Marshall must first defend her belt against Belgian boxer Femke Hermans next month on March 12.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Shields said: “She’s got to win first. Don’t ask me that. She decides that.

“I always show up and win, I hope that Marshall does her job because if that’s what they’re saying is the biggest women’s fight because she’s got some power and a little bit of height, I’m going to show them that Flint town come put the beatdown wherever.

“She’s going to get it just like Ema Kozin got it, even worse because I don’t like her.”

Shields, from Flint, also challenged Marshall to start acting like ‘a world champion’, after her rival left her belt at home.

“Yeah, she’s so disrespectful,” she added. “The accomplishments don’t compare. I wanted to let the girl borrow a belt.

“Why’re you walking up here with no belts when I’ve got five, six belts? No. She doesn’t even know how to be a world champion.

“A champion never leaves their belts at home, especially when they’re about to face off with another world champion.
