Ciarán Frawley a doubt for Leinster's top-of-the-table clash with Bulls

Leinster will make a call later in the week on whether or not Ciarán Frawley will be available for selection for Friday's visit of Vodacom Bulls in the BKT United Rugby Championship.

Frawley returned from Six Nations duty with Ireland in last weekend’s 31-7 victory away to Zebre, but the full-back was replaced at half-time by Henry McErlean after suffering a foot injury.

Frawley will be assessed by the medical team this week for the first versus second clash at the RDS.

Michael Moloney has returned to full training after a recent bicep injury.

Ireland internationals Hugo Keenan (hip), James Ryan (arm) and Jimmy O’Brien (neck) remain sidelined.

Leo Cullen’s side hold a five-point advantage over the South Africans after 12 rounds of action, with the Bulls coming off a 31-10 win over Dragons at Rodney Parade.

Meanwhile, Ulster are sweating on the fitness of out-half Billy Burns (shoulder) and Sean Reffell (ankle) for their meeting with DHL Stormers on Saturday.

The pair picked up the knocks during the 22-12 defeat to Hollywoodbets Sharks in Richie Murphy’s first game in charge as interim head coach on Saturday.

Burns and Reffell will have scans in Cape Town and a decision on their availability will be made later in the week.

A win for the Irish province on Saturday would see them leapfrog their hosts in fifth place.

Watch Munster v Cardiff in the URC on Saturday from 7pm on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player.
