At the Bournemouth International Centre, top contender Isaac Chamberlain will square off against Chris Billam-Smith in a scorching domestic matchup.

The third and fourth independently ranked British cruiserweight fighters square off in a real 50-50, the hard-to-call battle at the renowned seaside venue between Bournemouth star Billam-Smith (15-1-0, 11) and flashy Londoner Chamberlain (14-1-0, 8).

The winner can anticipate more significant matchups against British competitors, including those in the BOXXER stable, Richard Riakporhe, Michael Lawal, and the rapidly developing Viddal Riley, as the fiercely competitive domestic 200lb division is at its strongest in recent years.

Fighting under the nickname The Gentleman, the 6′ 3″ big-hitting Billam-Smith has established himself as one of the division’s top threats with 11 KOs in 16 fights. 

Tommy McCarthy was defeated by him twice in cruel fashion—in April of this year, he was knocked out in the eighth round to win the European and Commonwealth titles, and in July of 2021, he won the British and Commonwealth titles by way of a points decision.

If Chamberlain is defeated, a possible blockbuster rematch against World-class Riakporhe, the only person to have defeated Billiam-Smith in July 2019, could follow. 

Similar to this, Brixton puncher Chamberlain is on a scorching run of form, having scored four straight knockouts, the latest three of which were in the first round.

Chamberlain won the IBF International Cruiserweight title in his final bout against Dilan Prasovic in December 2021 after down the strong Montenegrin with a big left hook to the body but failing to get the ten-count.
