Chloe Mustaki suffers season-ending hip injury
Chloe Mustaki has been ruled out for the rest of the Women's Super League season with a hip injury.
On Thursday morning, the 28-year-old was omitted from the Republic of Ireland squad for the upcoming Euro 2025 qualifiers against France and England. Later in the day, Mustaki's club Bristol City confirmed she's facing a spell on the sidelines.
"I'm extremely disappointed to not be able to feature again this season but the support from everyone at the club, as well as the fans, has been a big help in recent weeks," said Mustaki.
She also posted on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter: "Unfortunately, that's a wrap on my 23/24 season. A real tough one to take this time around.
"Plenty of emotions, but truly grateful for all of the new experiences that came with WSL football this year. Thank you for all of the support. Journey towards full health and happiness."
Bristol City head coach Lauren Smith offered her support, adding: "We're gutted for Chloe on both a personal and professional level, and we'll continue to work hard on helping her return to action."
