Chiefs' Justyn Ross charged with domestic battery, property damage - ESPN

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Chiefs wide receiver Justyn Ross has been charged with domestic battery and criminal property damage of less than $1,000, court records in Johnson County, Kansas, show.

Both charges are misdemeanors.

Ross was arrested Monday in Shawnee, Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City. An arraignment has been set for Tuesday afternoon.

The Kansas domestic battery charge that Ross is facing is defined as «knowingly causing physical contact with a person with whom the offender is involved or has been involved in a dating relationship or a family or household member, when done in a rude, insulting or angry manner.»

The items in the property damage charge, according to the Shawnee police, include a laptop, a computer monitor, an iPhone, a gold bracelet and a car key. He originally had been facing a felony charge, with damage value exceeding $1,000, but it has since been amended to a misdemeanor and value of less than $1,000.

The Chiefs said they are aware of the arrest but had no comment.

Ross, 23, joined the Chiefs last season as an undrafted free agent out of Clemson. He didn't compete in 2022 because of injuries.

Ross has played in all of the Chiefs' seven games this season, recording three catches for 34 yards.
