Chennai Crowd Can't Keep Calm As Virat Kohli Waves At Them During Bangladesh Test

Indian cricket team star batter Virat Kohli was in a jovial mood during Day 2 of the first Test match against Bangladesh in Chennai on Friday. Kohli failed to score big in the first innings after he was dismissed for 6 but that did not impact his spirits as he was his usual self on the field. In a video going viral on social media, Kohli was seen waving at the Chennai crowd and it led to a massive response from the spectators. The sound was deafening as the crowd applauded the star cricketer and later in the day, Kohli even put on a little dance show following the fall of a wicket.

Bangladesh were all out for a paltry 149 in their first innings as they trailed India by a massive 227 runs on the second day of the opening Test on Friday.

In reply to India's 376, Bangladesh could survive for just 47.1 overs and were shot out in the post-tea session, as they struggled big time against the home side's bowlers.

Centuries from opener Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant helped India close in on victory in the first Test despite a spirited start to Bangladesh's chase for their target of 515 in Chennai on Saturday.

Bangladesh started briskly but lost wickets to reach 158-4 when bad light stopped play on day three, with the visitors still needing 357 for a win. India declared their second innings on 287-4.

Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto was unbeaten on 51 at the close of play, with Shakib Al Hasan on five.

Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets to add to his 113 with the bat in his team's first innings total of 376.

Bangladesh openers Zakir Hasan and Shadman Islam began briskly with 62 runs for the first wicket before Jasprit Bumrah ended the defiant stand to send back Zakir for 33.

Ashwin dismissed Shadman for 35.
