Cheltenham Festival 2022 Day One: Where To Watch, Tips and Everything You Need To Know

It’s back. The biggest event in the horse racing calendar year, Cheltenham Festival 2022 is upon us. Punters all around the globe will be keeping a close eye on the first day and with some big races ahead, we’re certainly in for a treat for this year’s opener.

Day one last year provided us with some ridiculous races. Huge names such as Shishkin, Honeysuckle and Vintage Clouds all prevailed in their races last year, so we can’t wait to see what names are put in lights this time around.

As for the jockeys, Rachael Blackmore stole the show and she’ll be looking to do the same again on day one this year in the Champion Hurdle.

So – let’s not hold our horses. Here’s everything you need to know about Day One of Cheltenham Festival 2022.

The races are all being televised, but they are split between two TV Companies. Racing TV (Sky Channel 426) will be showing all of the races at Cheltenham; however, the first five races each day will be on ITV. Coverage starts at 1 pm each day.

The races on ITV will be free to watch, but Sky Racing TV is part of a Sky subscription. It costs £10 on top of your subscription a month.

Day one of the Cheltenham Festival begins on Tuesday 15th March 2022, with the first race taking place at 1:30 PM GMT.

A cracker to kick off the festival. Constitution Hill is currently the favourite going into this, he’s looked massively exciting in his previous races.

Willie-Mullins trained Dysart Dynamo can’t be ruled out though, he’s been winning races left right and centre – so will certainly be a threat to the bookie favourite.
