Chelsea transfer news: 'Deal will be reached' for Jules Kounde
Chelsea are already working to tie up a summer deal for Jules Kounde and have been tipped to secure his services by transfer insider Dean Jones.
The Blues failed to make a single signing during the January transfer window but it appears they have already turned their attentions towards welcoming reinforcements at the end of the season.
According to The Athletic, Sevilla central defender Kounde is on a three-man shortlist of summer targets already compiled by Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel.
The report suggests West Ham United defensive midfielder Declan Rice and Monaco star Aurelien Tchouameni are also at the top of the German’s wishlist as he already looks to make inroads ahead of the transfer window reopening for business.
Tuchel’s hopes of acquiring Kounde should come as no surprise as he has been a long-term admirer of the seven-cap France international.
Chelsea were keen on striking a deal last summer but failed to meet his £66.5million release clause and it was claimed by Spanish media outlet AS that Tuchel was preparing another bid before the January deadline passed, but a move failed to materialise.
It would appear the west Londoners are set to face competition from Barcelona as the Spanish giants’ boss Xavi is a fan and reportedly mulling over making a move.

Jones understands Chelsea are working on finding a way to seal Kounde’s services at the end of the campaign.
