Chelsea and Arsenal both boosted their chances of finishing in the top four of the Premier League over the weekend and they may start looking above them rather than behind.

Goals from Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic and Reece James helped Thomas Tuchel to a 4-0 win away to Burnley, while Mikel Arteta watched on as his side saw off a spirited Watford 3-2.

The results left Chelsea in third place on 53 points and Arsenal in fourth on 48. While the Gunners sit just one point ahead of Manchester United, they also boast three games in hand over the Red Devils.

They also have one in hand over the Blues and if won they will move to within two points of their London rivals.

But both teams boast at least one game in hand on Liverpool, who currently sit 10 points ahead of Chelsea in second place.

With just over 10 matches left to play for each side, the next six games look set to be decisive in the race to finish as high as possible in the top-flight.

They are a group of fixtures that suit Chelsea on paper, with four games against relegation-threatened sides - although that does not always equate to an easy game.
