Chelsea's embarrassing Brentford defeat can only mean one thing ahead of Real Madrid clash

There's something in the air. It's the same extra-terrestrial being from last season. I don't quite know what it is, but its presence only means one thing - Chelsea are winning the Champions League.

The Blues hosted Brentford and whilst the Bees are no pushovers, I can't say that I expected a 4-1 hammering. The West London Derby was a nightmare for Chelsea fans everywhere. Just when we thought we had one hand on the game, we were kindly humbled by Thomas Frank's men.

But in the words of Thanos, 'now is no time to mourn'. We have a Champions League to win. If last season has any say, we are right on track to securing a back-to-back Champions League win.

On the 3rd of April 2021, Thomas Tuchel had suffered his first defeat as Chelsea manager. It was probably one of the most humbling matches that I have ever watched as a Chelsea fan. The Blues lost 5-2 to West Brom right before their Quarter Final clash against Porto. Christian Pulisic arrived with the first goal, however, Thiago Silva's red card was the cue for the floodgates to open.

The Blues have a knack for causing severe upset right before marching on to win the Champions League. Let me take you back to 2012. Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole, Juan Mata, and Didier Drogba were left on the bench against Newcastle with an FA Cup final and Champions League final to look forward to. They won both.

I can go on about how bad of a result it was against the Bees. I remember losing 4-0 to Bournemouth
