Chelsea news: Todd Boehly closing in on 'perfect signing' as Cristiano Ronaldo stance revealed

Your Chelsea morning digest on Monday, June 27.

Chelsea are preparing another approach for Raheem Sterling and believe they can get him for significantly less than Manchester City's current £60 million asking price. Former Liverpool ace Tony Cascarino has said the 27-year-old would be an ideal signing.

"I think they’ll do at least two big signings before the start of the season," he told talkSPORT. "I think that Raheem is perfect for Chelsea, I think that they need that kind of player. I love Raheem’s pace. There are so few players who can get to the byline as a wide player."

Surprising news emerged on Saturday night when it was reported by The Athletic that Todd Boehly had held a meeting with super agent Jorge Mendes with the availability of Cristiano Ronaldo on the agenda. Chelsea are on the hunt for a new frontman with Romelu Lukaku on his way out.

But any move for Ronaldo would be a non-starter according to United. Sources at the club told The Mirror that they fully expect Ronaldo to be a part of the side come the beginning of the 2022-23 campaign.

According to Tuttosport via SempreInter.com, the Blues are 'serious' about signing Slovakian defender Milan Škriniar, a player who they failed to get included in the Romelu Lukaku negotiations with Inter Milan.
