Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich released a statement on Saturday evening to announce he will be handing over "stewardship and care" to the Chelsea Foundation.
Since taking over in 2003, Abramovich has overseen an unprecedented amount of success as the Blues have gone on to win every trophy available to them at club level.
However, since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the 55-year-old Oligarch has been accused of having links to Vladimir Putin - claims which he has denied.
But Abramovich feels it is the right time for him to step back after admitting he is not in the "best position" to handle the club.
