Frenkie de Jong's representatives are reportedly trying to convince Chelsea to enter the bidding for the Barcelona midfielder.
The Stamford Bridge outfit's Premier League rivals Manchester United have got an agreement in place with the Spanish giants to purchase De Jong this summer, but the player himself is thought to prefer a move to a Champions League club. And reports coming out of Spain are suggesting that the Dutchman's agent is trying drum up interest in his client and has approached Chelsea about a potential move.
It comes as former Blues boss Rafa Benitez has raised concerns over the club's new defender Kalidou Koulibaly. And Thomas Tuchel has responded to reports linking the club with a move for Cristiano Ronaldo.
