Chelsea: 'Fans will be worried' about £185k-a-week star's 'issues'

Chelsea fans might be concerned with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang‘s disciplinary problems if he makes the move to Stamford Bridge, according to Daily Star journalist Paul Brown.

The Blues are being linked with the £185,000 per-week striker, but Brown reckons that his previous off the field issues at Arsenal could be a red flag.

According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign the ex-Arsenal striker, with Fabrizio Romano claiming that the west Londoners are ‘considering’ a move for him.

Aubameyang only made the switch from north London to the Nou Camp back in January, but the La Liga giants have since brought in Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha, which could reduce the Gabon international’s game-time.

This comes despite Aubameyang scoring 13 goals in 23 Barca appearances following his winter arrival, which saw him end as the club’s top goalscorer, even though he missed half the season.

A move back to the Premier League would see him reunite with Thomas Tuchel, who he enjoyed great success under at Borussia Dortmund.

But Brown reckons the Stamford Bridge faithful might be slightly worried about his disciplinary problems at Arsenal, which ultimately resulted in his Emirates Stadium exit.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “The issues he had at Arsenal would be a worry for Chelsea fans probably, but the manager obviously doesn’t have major concerns, he’s worked with him before and knows him.

“He would be playing a different role at Chelsea than at Arsenal and in different surroundings, so there’s no reason to think he would have similar disciplinary problems, and Tuchel seems quite happy with that.”

Generally, Aubameyang was one of the top strikers in the Premier League during his four years in English football.
