Chelsea can make 'exciting' move by bringing £80m beast to Stamford Bridge

Leicester City star Wesley Fofana is the kind of defender Chelsea like, according to Daily Star journalist Paul Brown.

Fofana, Pau Torres and Max Kilman are a few centre-backs who the Blues have recently been linked with, and Brown believes the Frenchman is the most exciting name out of that trio.

With Antonio Rudiger leaving Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, Chelsea are reportedly eyeing a host of central defenders, including Fofana.

According to the Evening Standard, the 21-year-old, who was recently hailed as “exceptional” by Brendan Rodgers, is one centre-half on the west London club’s radar despite him recently signing a contract extension until 2027 at the King Power.

Elsewhere, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea have sent scouts to watch Torres of Villarreal, while talkSPORT reported back in February that Kilman of Wolves is also a target.

On top of Rudiger, Thomas Tuchel also looks set to lose Andreas Christensen, who will be a free agent this summer, so the European champions making multiple additions at the back after their takeover is complete seems inevitable.

While Brown believes Fofana, Torres and Kilman would all fit into Tuchel’s system, the Daily Star reporter really likes the idea of Chelsea snapping up the Leicester man.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Brown said: “They would probably all fit the system in different ways. Fofana is the most exciting one for me because he’s clearly got huge potential, is quick and he’s very comfortable on the ball, which I’m sure Chelsea like.”
