Chelsea boss Emma Hayes responds to Erin Cuthbert’s hilarious ‘drunk’ tweet
Chelsea Women’s boss Emma Hayes has responded to a hilarious tweet from Blues star Erin Cuthbert, which implied Hayes looked drunk during the celebrations for Sam Kerr’s match-winning goal against Aston Villa in the Women’s Super League.
Hayes’ team kept the pressure on league leaders Arsenal with a last-gasp victory over Villa on Sunday. It was Kerr who proved to be the difference-maker as the Australian scored her 11th goal of the campaign, to move one clear of Vivianne Miedema in the Golden Boot race.
After Kerr slotted home, she was swarmed by Chelsea’s players, and Hayes also got involved in the celebrations.
Midfielder Cuthbert posted an image of Hayes and the team after the game, where the Scottish midfielder appears to be holding off her manager from squaring up to some of the other players.
Obviously, the photo itself is misleading and Hayes was instead looking to congratulate Kerr. However, Cuthbert’s caption has got many laughing.
“When your drunk mate wants a fight but you just want to get in the club already @emmahayes1,” she wrote.
Cuthbert also included a love heart in the tweet, showcasing just how much she admires Hayes –– who has been Chelsea boss since 2012.
