Chelsea: 50 y/o 'would be interested' in replacing Tuchel at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea would not have any problems convincing Mauricio Pochettino to take over as their new boss as the Argentinian ‘would be interested’ in moving into the Stamford Bridge dugout, according to journalist Paul Brown.

The west Londoners sacked Thomas Tuchel on Wednesday morning, leading to a search for his successor ahead of travelling to Fulham on Saturday.

Having been in the Chelsea hot seat since his appointment in January 2021, Tuchel’s reign came to an end earlier on Wednesday.

The German’s dismissal came less than 24 hours after he lambasted his squad for showing no hunger or determination in their 1-0 Champions League defeat at Dinamo Zagreb.

It means Todd Boehly, who led a £4.25billion takeover of Chelsea in May, is on the lookout for a new manager for the first time since collecting the keys to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues are reportedly eyeing discussions with Pochettino after he has been considered as a potential replacement for Tuchel by club chiefs.

Pochettino has been out of work since he was sacked by reigning Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain in July.

Brown believes Pochettino would be interested in returning to management by clinching the Chelsea job vacated by Tuchel.

However, the journalist has concerns over whether the 50-year-old would be a success at Stamford Bridge.

Brown told GIVEMESPORT: “I’m sure it’s a job that Pochettino would be interested in.

“Does he know any of those players particularly well? I can’t think of relationships there, really, with many of them that he would have had before and would make it easy for him to fit in.

“Personally, I think Pochettino is someone who needs a young, hungry group that he can mould.

“I don’t think he does particularly well with superstar teams
