Chatham Town manager-chairman Kevin Hake reflects on their 1-0 Isthmian Premier away win against Hashtag United and looks ahead to derby at Folkestone Invicta

Boss Kevin Hake thinks three points can sometimes feel like six at the business end of the season as in-form Chatham look to continue climbing the table.

Isthmian Premier Chats are on an eight-game unbeaten run, having edged to a second consecutive 1-0 victory at play-off chasing Hashtag United last weekend.

Teenage Gillingham defender Harry Webster claimed the only goal as they again kept it tight at the other end.

Hake said: “The win away to Hashtag kept the undefeated run going.

“It’s back-to-back clean sheets now and only four goals conceded in eight games, which has been testament to the upturn in results.

“We now have seven games to go - six in the league and a cup final (the Velocity Cup final against Billericay on Wednesday, April 9) - to work on continuing this form and to see where it takes us. We have opportunities to climb the table as we're playing teams around us.

“This really is the business end of the season and three points sometimes seems like six so we need to apply ourselves and focus on one game at a time.

“Folkestone will be a tough opponent on Saturday, especially at their place, so we’ll need to be on top form to continue the good run we are on.”

When the teams met at the Bauvill Stadium in December, two-goal Freddie Sears, Rowan Liburd and John Ufuah were on target in their 4-1 win.
