Chatham Town expecting another big crowd as they host Dulwich Hamlet at the Bauvill Stadium in the Isthmian Premier Division on New Year’s Day

Chatham are on a winning run in the Isthmian Premier - and the fans are playing their part.

Kevin Hake’s side are back at home on New Year’s Day against Dulwich - the only team in the division who can boast bigger attendances.

Second-placed Chats beat leaders Hornchurch 2-0 in their last home league meeting thanks to a couple of late goals.

Hake said: “I told the players at half-time of that game that the fans would virtually suck the ball into the net with their singing and passion and that was the case.

“For two weeks in a row we were the highest supported non-league club in Kent which is an incredible feat.

“The Chats Army continues to grow which is great to see as they really make a difference when you need it.”

Chatham continued their good league form on Boxing Day as they won 3-1 at Kingstonian.

Jack Evans put Chats ahead and despite the hosts equalising, Kareem Isiaka restored the lead before the break and Chris Dickson made the points safe with 20 minutes left.

Chatham’s average home league gate this season stands at 1,266 and another big crowd is expected on New Year’s Day for a Dulwich side who attracted 2,737 for their Boxing Day win over Carshalton.
