Charlton Athletic suffer injury blow ahead of Bolton Wanderers as striker absence continues

Bolton Wanderers take on Charlton Athletic tomorrow at aiming to extend their League One unbeaten run to six matches.

Wanderers came from behind with 10 men to claim a point on the road versus Morecambe over the weekend.

Amadou Bakayoko's late strike cancelled out Cole Stockton's effort, with the Morecambe striker having his earlier penalty saved by James Trafford.

That penalty was awarded after an alleged handball by Bolton captain Ricardo Almeida Santos, who was shown a straight red card.

Wanderers may appeal that decision, but for now Santos will be suspended for the visit of the Addicks tomorrow evening.

Charlton themselves though will have gaps to fill in their team as wing-back Corey Blackett-Taylor will be out with a hamstring problem which curtailed his contribution to the weekend victory over AFC Wimbledon to 12 minutes.

Striker and Jayden Stockley will be missing too owing to a hip problem.

Speaking to the South London Press about Blackett-Taylor, Addicks boss Johnnie Jackson said: “Corey won’t be able to go again. I don’t think it is too serious. We’ll have to check him over again this morning.

“But when someone comes off after five or 10 minutes then they are unlikely to feature again three days later.

“We will be without him. But everyone else came through fine. It will be a question of freshness and who is feeling any tightness. We’ll assess that this morning.”
