Championship wrap: Sammie Szmodics finds net in Blackburn defeat

Sammie Szmodics scored for the fifth Sky Bet Championship game in succession but his Blackburn Rovers side eventually fell to a 3-1 defeat at basement side Sheffield Wednesday.

The Colchester-born Szmodics, who qualifies to play for the Republic of Ireland, equalised in the 65th minute after Bailey Cadamarteri's early goal, but late strikes from Marvin Johnson and Josh Windass secured just a second league win of the season for the Owls.
