Champions Ballyhale Shamrocks dominate club hurling Team of the Year

Champions Ballyhale Shamrocks have had eight players included in the AIB GAA Club Hurling Team of the Year.

The Kilkenny outfit defeated Antrim's Dunloy in a hard-fought final and see Joey Holden and Adrian Mullen in line for the Hurler of the Year award at Friday night’s ceremony at Croke Park, with Ballygunner’s Stephen O’Keefe also nominated.

Ballyhale’s Killiann Corcoran was included in the full-back line alongside Holden as the club lifted the title for a ninth time.

Richie Reid and Darragh Corcoran make up two thirds of the half-back line with Mullen named in midfield. Eoin Cody, TJ Reid and Colin Fennelly are all included in attack.

Beaten finalists Dunloy, who recorded a memorable semi-final win over Galway outfit St Thomas, have three players in the final 15: defenders Ryan McGarry and Kevin Molloy, and attacker Conal Cunning.

Holders Ballygunner saw their campaign end at the semi-final stage at the hands of Ballyhale, but they have four players represented.

Goalkeeper O’Keefe is joined by Conor Sheahan in midfield and Pauric Mahony and Patrick Fitzgerald up front.
