Champion Max Verstappen commits future to Red Bull

Max Verstappen has committed his future to Red Bull by signing a new five-year contract extension worth a staggering €240million.

The deal, which could earn Verstappen as much as €48million-a-season, is arguably the most lucrative in Formula One history, and will see the world champion remain at Red Bull until the end of 2028.

Verstappen's current contract, worth around €24m-a-year, was due to expire at the end of next season.

His new deal with take him into a 13th season with Red Bull and beyond his 30th birthday.
