Celtic launch 2024 Foundation Christmas Appeal with £10k donation as Brendan Rodgers delivers personal message

Celtic have kicked off the club’s Christmas Appeal campaign this year by donating £10,000 to the Foundation.

The festive charity launch comes on the day of the club’s 137th birthday with the Scottish Premiership giants formed on November 6 at St Mary’s in the Calton, where Brother Walfrid and the club’s other Founding Fathers made a stand to help those most in need within their local community.

As well as requesting donations from big-hearted supporters, the club have a host of fundraising events and initiatives. The club are aware of the challenges during the festive period and are looking to help those facing hardship at Christmas.

Supporters will be able to get behind the Appeal while they do their Christmas shopping with the Hoops joining with the club’s Retail department to create a special ‘Walfrid’s Wishlist’. Every festive item purchased from the selection will see a contribution being made towards the Appeal - just look for the Christmas Appeal Snow Globe while shopping. A brand new, limited edition Celtic FC Foundation T-shirt which will also be sold online via the Celtic Store, with net proceeds dedicated to the Appeal.

Celtic FC Foundation Chief Executive, Tony Hamilton, said: “The Christmas Appeal will allow countless individuals, elderly people and families with young children to be included, alongside everyone else. That’s only possible because of the support Celtic FC Foundation gets from across the world. Without the backing of supporters, funders and corporate backers, none of this would be possible.
