Celtic hit with transfer blow after source reveals advanced talks - report
Celtic all of a sudden have a fight on their hands to sign Cameron Carter-Vickers, with a fresh claim confirming that numerous Premier League clubs now want to sign him.
The 24-year-old has enjoyed a superb season for the Hoops, arriving on loan from Tottenham last summer and proving to be a vital member of the defence.
Carter-Vickers has now made 41 appearances in all competitions this season, including 29 in the Scottish Premiership, where he has averaged 4.2 aerial duel wins per game.
Celtic are keen on making the centre-back’s temporary move a permanent one this summer, with some reports even claiming the deal is ‘expected‘ to go through after an American source revealed advanced talks, but a potential hurdle has now appeared.
Taking to Twitter, 90min journalist Matt O’Connor-Simpson claimed that a host of Premier League clubs are also interested in Carter-Vickers, which could be a problem for Ange Postecoglou:
The lure of the Premier League is always great for players, considering it is widely thought of as the most entertaining and competitive league in the world.
The key to this whole situation is how happy Carter-Vickers is at Celtic and if he is willing to ignore interest from south of the border, where more money could potentially be on offer.
Hopefully, the American sees a positive future for himself at Parkhead and regaining the title this season could play a huge part in his decision, with Champions League football sealed in the process.
