Celtic fan anger at 'breaking point' as 142 supporters buses threaten a boycott

The Celtic Fans Collective have called on acting chairman Brian Wilson to sit down with them over fears anger has reached "breaking point".

The leading supporters' group want action from decision makers and claim 142 supporter buses have contacted them over a potential boycott for an upcoming home match.

Recriminations have festered between the club's fans and those who run the club during a season to forget – now they want Wilson to meet them at the table.

The Collective vowed to "escalate their campaign" in the wake of furious protests outside Celtic Park following their 3-1 defeat to Rangers which ended Wilfried Nancy's disastrous eight-game reign.

But the true ire has been aimed at the club's board with anger heightened over an ill-fated statement from Celtic in September over their botched summer transfer window.

That rolled into an acrimonious AGM which came to a screeching halt after Ross Desmond – son of principal shareholder Dermot – let rip with a furious broadside by branding a section of the support "bullies".

Non-executive chairman Peter Lawwell exited in December over 'intolerable abuse and threats'.

Martin O'Neill's return may calm things down on the park but the Collective have warned Wilson and Co their anger isn't going away anytime soon.

The statement read: "On September 9, following a calamitous summer transfer window and a fifth Champions League qualification defeat in a row, 420 Celtic supporter organisations, buses, supporters' clubs, and fan media outlets signed a joint open letter addressed to the Celtic board. The letter outlined three key areas of concern based around seven questions. This letter represented the views of tens of thousands of Celtic supporters who wanted greater clarity
