Celebrity MasterChef on BBC One: Full line up and how the competition works

MasterChef is back for a new season on BBC One, with a fresh line-up of celebrities ready to put their cooking skills to the ultimate test.

John Torode and Gregg Wallace are putting their taste buds to good use across six weeks as they judge the stars' best dish attempts. The show's 18th series sees GoCompare opera singer Wynne Evans, Emmerdale actress Amy Walsh and Love Island contestant Luca Bish among the stars facing the heat of the kitchen.

Drag artist Cheryl Hole, reality star Dani Dyer and singer Jamelia will also be hoping they can chop, slice and sizzle their way into the final to lift to coveted MasterChef trophy.

Here's the full list of 20 celebrities taking part in MasterChef 2023, as well as how the different heats work. The first episode airs on Wednesday, August 2.

Celebrity MasterChef features four heat weeks concentrating on testing the celebrities’ abilities and whittling them down until only the very best go through to the final stages. The first, 60-minute episode of each heat week sees five new faces tackle the Under The Cloche challenge, before being thrown straight in at the deep end to create their two course dinner party dishes.

Then, an array of cookery challenges will stretch the stars’ culinary ability to their limits as they head through the competition. Returning challenges include Dinner Party Dish, Nostalgia Dish and a brand-new Celebrity Food Truck challenge awaits our celebrities.

Celebrity MasterChef begins at 9pm on BBC One on Tuesday August 1.
