CCTV shows moment thugs 'smash and ransack' Greater Manchester salon

A salon owner in Whitefield has been left feeling “scared and vulnerable” after her hair salon was “smashed and ransacked.” CCTV footage from Blush and Blows salon on Bury Old Road captured three thugs launch a large brick at the glass door, before breaking in.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning (November 26) at around 2.20am. Footage captured from a security camera inside the salon showed three men arrive outside the premises on two electric bikes, wearing coats, face coverings and gloves.

One of the men launched a brick at the front door, shattering the glass. They then proceeded to kick the glass in so two of the men could gain access to the salon, while the third waited outside on a bike.

Using flashlights, the pair searched the reception desk at the front of the salon, attempting to take one of the tills.

They then disappeared into the back of the salon, where they found a sum of money. Returning to the front of the salon, they also made off with petty cash stolen from the reception area.

The incident went on for less than three minutes.

It is understood the burglars alarmed residents living above the salon who rang the police who quickly attended the scene.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Blush and Blows salon owner Casey recalled the moment police officers arrived to her house to inform her of the break in.

“I was in shock when police knocked on my door at around 2.40am to tell me what had happened. I felt sick, scared and vulnerable.

“It was the worst feeling ever.”

Heading to her salon, which she has owned for the past 10 months, Casey was horrified to see what had happened.

“I didn’t know what to expect
