CCTV image of balaclava-clad gang after attempted robbery
Police have revealed CCTV images of a balaclava-clad gang following an attempted robbery in Hazel Grove. The group of four males attempted to steal a motorbike from a premises before later being spotted driving dangerously around Stockport.
Officers first received the report on Monday evening (August 15) shortly before 5pm, to reports of males stealing motorbikes and driving dangerously around Newby Road. Further enquiries suggested they attempted to steal one of the motorbikes resulting in damage.
An investigation has now been launched, with Greater Manchester Police appealing for information to identify the four offenders. Anyone who may have footage or recognise those involved are being urged to make contact.

A spokesperson for the force said: "At around 4:55pm yesterday evening (Monday 15 August 2022), officers were called to reports of four males in balaclavas stealing motorbikes and driving dangerously in Hazel Grove, Stockport. Enquiries have suggested that the four males attempted to steal a motorbike resulting in damage to the motorbike.
"The attempted theft was on Newby Road, Hazel Grove and the four males have proceeded to drive in a dangerous manner away from the scene. The four males were also sighted driving dangerously in Bramhall, Offerton and Marple.
"Officers attended the scene and an investigation has been launched. We are appealing to members of the public with any information about this incident to help us identify the four offenders."
