Cavan find second wind to beat Fermanagh and win Division 3 title

Cavan produced a superb second-half performance to overhaul Fermanagh and claim the Allianz Football League Division 3 title.

In wet conditions at Croke Park, the Erne County edged a low-scoring first half 1-04 to 0-06, thanks to Darragh McGurn's well-taken 28th minute goal.

Cavan restarted with intent however, scoring five points without reply upon the restart, which included three of goalkeeper/captain Raymond Galligan's four from long-range placed balls.

Fermanagh did battle back, closing the gap to a single point at 0-11 to 1-07 on the hour mark, but Cavan powered away once more, hitting the final five scores to claim the cup in style.

Both teams will play in Division 2 next year and are in Ulster quarter-final action this month.

Fermanagh are at home to provincial holders Derry on 15 April and Cavan against Armagh or Antrim on 22 April.
