Casualty Ward: Leeds man doubtful for Hull clash & Ricky Leutele injury

Keep up to date with the latest injury news in Casualty Ward, this week including Ash Handley and Ricky Leutele.

Ash Handley could miss Leeds’ upcoming clash against Hull in Super League. The Leeds winger left the field through injury during the club’s 42-12 defeat to St Helens last Thursday.

Saints forward Morgan Knowles got a bang on his hand, but should be okay to play next week against Catalans.

Toulouse suffered several casualties during their trip to the DW Stadium in a clash against Wigan. Eloi Pelissier left the field with a hip injury and will be assessed. Andrew Dixon (groin) and Matty Russell (calf) both pulled out in warm-up

Wigan forward Kaide Ellis went off during the game – but the injury is not as serious as first thought, head coach Matt Peet said.

Hull KR played 60 minutes with just two players on the bench against Huddersfield on Sunday. George King and Ryan Hall both left the field early on through injuries.

Ireland captain King left the field with a hamstring injury, but head coach Tony Smith is hopeful the injury isn’t long-term. Meanwhile, winger Hall left the field with a rib injury.

Smith said following the game: “Ryan’s got a rib cartilage problem. Today it was at a point where he tried to carry on but couldn’t.”

Elliot Minchella and Jez Litten both passed their HIAs during the game and will be free to play next week. Lachlan Coote (foot) and Mikey Lewis (dead leg) both sustained minor knocks but remained on the field for the second half.

Huddersfield’s Ricky Leutele suffered a serious-looking knee injury in the second half at Craven Park. The off-contract 32-year-old was in visible agony, with the game live on Sky Sports. He left the field and was later seen on crutches.
