Casemiro: Man Utd star enjoyed himself in first training session
Casemiro is officially a Manchester United player.
The Brazilian midfielder – who’s been among the best in the business for close to a decade now – has joined Erik ten Hag’s side after nine trophy-laden years at Real Madrid.
Casemiro’s stint in Spain saw him win the Champions League on five separate occasions, which is the joint-most since the competition was rebranded in 1992/93.
The 30-year-old is a born winner and United fans will be hoping his experience, combined with his unquestionable quality, will take the squad to another level this season.
It’s hard to see how he doesn’t improve the team, especially with Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez behind him – the duo who were exceptional in the recent 2-1 victory over Liverpool.
Casemiro will no doubt be buzzing about his reunion with Varane. The two were brilliant together at Real Madrid for many, many years.
But despite the fact they’re old friends, United’s newest superstar didn’t hesitate to get the better of the French defender in his first training session at Carrington.
Casemiro pulled off a slick nutmeg on Varane during a drill, further highlighting that he’s far more than just a midfield enforcer.
Casemiro already nutmegging Varane in training today.
