Carlos Sainz shares insight on Ferrari mood ahead of 2022
Speaking to Corriere.it, Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz says the mood at Maranello is a hugely positive one and that the team is looking forward to the upcoming Formula 1 season.
The Scuderia enjoyed a positive 2021 campaign with Sainz earning 5th place in the Drivers’ standings in what was his first year in Ferrari red.
Indeed, that helped the team secure 3rd place in the Constructors’ championship and now the plan will be for them to use 2022 and the new regulations as a year where they are challenging closer to the front on a more regular basis.
It will be tough, of course, but Ferrari have the clout and the talent to achieve such lofty ambitions and it sounds as though the mood within the team is pretty positive as we head towards 2022.
Sainz said:
“[The team is] full of energy and positivity. I think last year’s experience did us all good. In the corridors, I meet smiling and confident people. I don’t see stress, I see the desire to do well.”
Certainly, many would like to see Ferrari back up at the front after several years away and all eyes will be on their 2022 challenger which gets revealed on Thursday afternoon.
