Cardiff City transfer stance emerges on key position

Championship outfit Cardiff City are keen to see at least one forward come in before the summer transfer window closes, as per Wales Online.

The Bluebirds have started the summer in a promising fashion with nine signings already through the door in the Welsh capital, though they still have a few areas to address considering the number of players that have left, with some set to leave on the expiration of their contracts in just a couple of days.

Their central defence is a key area that needs to be looked at following Aden Flint’s departure, with Steve Morison yet to make an addition in that position but will need to with just four options in this position at this stage including Perry Ng.

Addressing this area will be especially important if Morison wants to opt to play with a back three again, though they will need to add options there regardless and another right wing-back will also be required if Ng remains in central defence.

Their forward area is another department that needs more quality and depth with Isaac Vassell when his contract ends and former loanees Jordan Hugill and Uche Ikpeazu returning to their respective loan clubs.

James Collins’ future is also uncertain at this stage amid interest from Derby County, so it will come as no surprise to many that they want to add at least one more option up top between now and the start of September.

Although Morison may or may not be intending to just play with one up front next season, he should be giving himself the option to play with two strikers as well to give the Bluebirds something different going forward.
