Cardiff City icon Jay Bothroyd embarrassed and stunned by derby day collapse
Cardiff City icon Jay Bothroyd has launched a scathing broadside at his former club following their catastrophic derby day defeat to rivals Swansea City.
Goals form Hannes Wolf, Ben Cabango and a brace from Michael Obafemi were enough to condemn Steve Morison's men to a 4-0 defeat at the Cardiff City Stadium, handing Swansea the first season double in the 110-year history of the fixture. The manner of the defeat will have caused plenty of concern in the capital, with manager Morison admitting that his team had 'let everyone down'. You can read his comments in full here.
The inquest into a disastrous day for the Bluebirds will have surely already begun. Former striker and fans' favourite Bothroyd, who made over 100 appearances for the Bluebirds, believes that Saturday's drubbing was a sign of deeper issues, adding that some members of the current squad weren't good enough.

Taking to Twitter, the 39-year-old said: "I feel embarrassed. It’s okay to loose [sic] games but not like that especially Derby games!!
"Honestly I’m lost for words. Knowing the staff at Cardiff a lot of these players won’t be there next year they don’t have the right makeup [sic] to play for this club."
Commenting on the performance, Cardiff boss Morison admitted that some of his players simply didn't cope with the occasion.
"I just don't think we dealt with it very well, the occasion," Morison said. "I mentioned it to them yesterday, to hopefully mention it and get it out of their system - 'You're allowed to be nervous, you're allowed to be scared and worried about what's coming up'. It was the biggest crowd of the season for us and a
