Cardiff City headlines as manager makes feelings clear to board over Sean Morrison contract and duo out of Peterborough clash

Here are your Cardiff City headlines for Tuesday, February 8.

Steve Morison has already made his views clear to the board about Sean Morrison's future, with the club captain both injured and out of contract at the end of the season.

Morrison's campaign came to an abrupt end last week when it was confirmed his ACL injury would rule him out for the remainder of the season.

The Bluebirds centre back, 31, sees his deal expire in June, meaning if no resolution is found he has played his final game for the Welsh capital city club.

But manager Morison has said he has already told the board what he thinks should happen with the skipper and an update on that should be given in due course.

"It’s football unfortunately," Morison said of the skipper's injury.

"Normally they are very innocuous, those kinds of things.

"He didn't come in the first day after it, but he came in Saturday before we left for Liverpool and has been in every day since and is very much part of what we are doing.

"He is still captain of this football club and he will be a positive influence around the place.

"I told him yesterday I will and I have spoken to the board, so we will see what that looks like for him going forward.

"When we know something and a decision is made we will communicate that to everyone else."

Joe Ralls and Curtis Nelson are both ruled out of Wednesday night's clash with Posh.

The Bluebirds duo have missed the last few games owing to niggling injuries and are set to miss another this week.

However, both have been back out on the training ground and don't look too far away from a return.

"Joe was on the grass yesterday for the first team but he hasn't been on the grass for a week, so tomorrow may come too soon," the boss said.
