Canadian snowboarder Arnaud Gaudet earns World Cup silver in parallel giant slalom
Snowboarder Arnaud Gaudet of Montcalm, Que., won a silver medal at a World Cup snowboard parallel giant slalom event on Saturday in Bansko, Bulgaria.
The 25-year-old made it to the big final, where Austria's Benjamin Karl took the gold medal in a time of one minute 12.28 seconds.
Gaudet was 0.68 seconds back of Karl to earn silver, while Switzerland's Gian Casanova claimed bronze in the small final.
On the women's side, Aurelie Moisan was the top Canadian finisher, posting a sixth-place result.
Germany's Ramona Theresia Hofmeister won gold, Poland's Aleksandra Krol-Walas took silver and Japan's Tsubaki Miki claimed bronze.
