Canada's Elena Gaskell scores silver medal at World Cup freeski slopestyle event
Canadian freestyle skier Elena Gaskell won a silver medal at a World Cup slopestyle event in Tignes, France, on Thursday.
The 24-year-old from Vernon, B.C., posted a score of 76.20 points on her first run to seal her spot on the podium. It's the second World Cup medal this season for Gaskell, who picked up slopestyle bronze at Snowmass, Colo., in January.
Great Britain's Kirsty Muir (82.78) won the event while Austria's Lara Wolf (76.41) rounded out the podium in bronze-medal position.
Naomi Urness, of Mont-Tremblant, Que., finished in eighth place with a top run of 66.33.
