Canada breaks its Olympic medal record for non-boycotted Summer Games with 25th in Paris

Katie Vincent's victory in the women's canoe sprint 200-metre final on Saturday wasn't just her second medal at the Paris Olympics — it helped break two Canadian records.

It gave the country its 25th medal and eighth win, breaking the national records for a non-boycotted Summer Games.

The previous mark was set three years ago in Tokyo, and included seven gold.

On Friday, she claimed bronze in the women's doubles 500m sprint canoe final with Sloan MacKenzie.
