Cameron Carter-Vickers makes all the right soundbites as a permanent deal draws closer
Cameron Carter-Vickers is believed to have already agreed personal terms with Celtic.
He is now just waiting on Celtic and Tottenham to come to terms on the overall cost of the deal to make his move permanent.
The original agreement was that Celtic would be able to buy him outright for £6 million at the end of his loan period.
Based on the fact he will be playing Champions League football if he becomes a Celtic player, his stock will only rise in the coming season.
The likelihood is that Tottenham are aware of this and are looking to implement a decent sell on clause as part of the deal.
They will have seen how Celtic develop players and sell them on for decent money, so they will be looking to cash in on that down the line should a big offer come in for CCV.
There is rumoured to be interest in the player from Premier League clubs, but it seems that CCV has his heart set on staying at Celtic.
He’s smart enough to know the benefit of Champions League football and how that will help his career. He may be able to get decent money in the EPL, but unless he’s playing for one of the big four, he won’t be able to experience Champions League football.
Adding to that the fact that he’s extremely happy at Celtic, the player said:
“I have really enjoyed it at Celtic. We were good to watch and an enjoyable team to play in. I am now 24 and want to be somewhere I can settle for a few years.
“Me and my agent have been talking to the club throughout the season about what’s going to happen at the end of the season. But obviously, it’s not just my decision. Celtic have to come to some kind of an agreement with Tottenham, so it’s not completely in my hands.
