Callum O’Hare makes Coventry City play-off claim

Coventry City midfielder Callum O’Hare believes his side have played enough games this season to know they are good enough to compete in and around the top six, speaking to the Sky Blues’ media team.

The West Midlands side managed to get off to the perfect start to the campaign, building on an impressive first season back in the Championship by forcing their way into the play-off zone and remaining there until the early stages of December.

They then looked destined for a midtable finish after slowly falling down the table – but retained their belief and have boosted their chances of involving themselves in the promotion mix with a 4-1 victory over fellow play-off hopefuls Sheffield United at the weekend.

This result has brought them within three points of the Blades who currently sit in sixth place – and there promises to be more twists and turns in the play-off race with the likes of Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest remaining outside of the top six despite overcoming Premier League opponents in the FA Cup this year.

However, the Sky Blues will also feel they have a chance of winning a play-off ticket with Matt Godden at their disposal again and Gustavo Hamer’s future now certain after seeing the Brazilian sign a new deal at the club last week.

Looking more at the present though, attacking midfielder O’Hare believes they have earned their current spot as he spoke after his side’s 4-1 victory against United.

He said: “Look at our team, we can go out there and produce results. It’ll be a different game against Hull, but hopefully we can come out with the same result.
