Callaway ends Good Good relationship amid backlash from video - ESPN

ATLANTA — Golf equipment manufacturer Callaway announced Thursday that it has ended its relationship with Good Good Golf, effective immediately, following backlash from a video advertisement that depicts a man shoving a woman to the ground.

In a statement posted to its social media accounts, Callaway admitted its internal review process wasn't comprehensive enough, which is why the company reposted the Good Good video, and said it has made «appropriate internal corrective actions» and strengthened its approval process to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Callaway said it is also donating $1 million to support organizations that work to prevent domestic violence against women and support survivors.

«Over the past several days, we have listened and reflected deeply on the hurt and disappointment caused by the video we reposted,» Callaway said in a statement. «We heard from individuals who shared personal experiences related to violence against women, and their stories were powerful reminders that this issue touches the lives of far too many people.

»Unequivocally, violence against women is unacceptable and should never be trivialized, normalized, or used as entertainment."

In the 60-second ad for Callaway's new co-branded driver with Good Good, Garrett Clark shoved Alexis Miestowski to the ground as she reached for the driver in his bag. He told her, «Do not touch my new driver.»

Clark and Miestowski are content creators for Good Good.

While Callaway and Good Good Golf apologized for the video's content, Dick's Sporting Goods and its subsidiary, Golf Galaxy, began removing the content creator's merchandise from store shelves Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Golf Channel postponed the debut of its reality show «Big Break x Good»
