Caleb Plant's brutal knockout & savage celebration vs Anthony Dirrell

Caleb Plant returned to action, almost a year on from suffering his first career defeat to Canelo Alvarez, knocking out his fierce rival, Anthony Dirrell at the Barclays Center in New York as part of the Deontay Wilder vs Robert Helenius card.

Last time out saw Plant lose to Alvarez, giving up his perfect record with the first notch in the L column, but to say he was back with a bang is an understatement, with a huge left hook doing the business in the ninth round.

He improved his record to 22-1, with his celebration following the knockout absolutely savage, with the disrespect forcing the referee to sprint over and move Plant towards the edge of the ring, away from his stricken rival.

The fight saw nothing major occur in the opening exchanges, but as time went on, both fighters produced solid moments as they looked to assert themselves and take the upper hand.

Neither of them was able to do so, until Plant followed a body shot up with a left hook which left his opponent out for the count. A knockout of the night on a card that features Wilder takes something seriously good!  When the referee signalled the fight was over and Plant was victorious, he had to intervene in the celebrations shortly after, stopping Plant in his tracks.

It concluded what has been a long-term rivalry between the pair in the WBC super middleweight title eliminator bout, with the pair exchanging plenty of words over the years, with Plant using that in his unsavoury celebration.
