Cadwell BSB: Ryde ready for ‘learning curve’

Rich Energy OMG Yamaha’s Kyle Ryde is putting a tough Thruxton behind him as Bennetts British Superbike action heads to Cadwell Park this weekend.

The demands of the Lincolnshire venue provide an eclectic mix for the Superbike class as elevation changes culminate in the stunning mountain crest while the narrow circuit combines both long straights, sweeping corners and a tight and twisty final sector, one Ryde is relishing getting his teeth into on the Yamaha R1.

“Cadwell Park is a real rider’s circuit and over the years I’ve had some great results there,” Ryde explained ahead of round seven. “Even though this is my third season on a superbike, we missed racing there in 2020 and a small crash in testing last season meant I missed the whole weekend with an injured foot so it’s definitely going to be a learning curve for me.

“I’ve got a great feeling with the RICH Energy OMG Racing Yamaha R1 after race three at Thruxton and that will hopefully continue to work well for us with the main aim of the weekend to come home with strong points in each race and get one foot in the Showdown before we move on to Snetterton.”
