C.T. Pan uses fan as caddie after Mike 'Fluff' Cowan hurt - ESPN

C.T. Pan received assistance from four different caddies — including a fan — during Sunday's final round at the PGA Tour's RBC Canadian Open.

Mike «Fluff» Cowan, Pan's caddie, slipped and fell on the third hole in the rainy conditions at Hamilton Golf and Country Club. Cowan, 76, suffered «nonserious» injuries, according to a PGA Tour official, and was shown watching the action from a golf cart.

A random fan, Paul Emerson from nearby Aurora, Ontario, emerged from the crowd to briefly hold the bag for Pan. Emerson said he asked Pan if he could help as the golfer was walking Cowan to the medic adjacent to the fairway.

«I helped Fluff get the bib off, threw it on and started walking up the hole,» Emerson said, according to PGATour.com.

Emerson, who said he once caddied for a friend during a pro-am for an LPGA Tour event, ultimately was replaced by Mike Campbell, who works in caddie services at the club, on the fifth hole.

Alex Riddell, who serves as the caddie for Paul Barjon, replaced Campbell for the back nine. Riddell lives in Hamilton, Ontario, and was familiar with Pan from PGA Tour Canada. Sportsnet said Riddell was watching on television and went to the course to offer his services.

Pan ended up shooting a 1-under 69. The highlight of his final round was a 121-yard approach that he holed for an eagle 2 on the par-4 12th.
