Bury FC issue statement condemning fans' behaviour at ill-tempered play-off final against Wythenshawe Town

Bury FC have condemned their own fans' behaviour after reports of fighting and a pitch invasion during an ill-tempered match against Wythenshawe Town. The Shakers lost the North West Counties Premier Division Play Off Final at Ericstan Park on penalties after the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

In a statement Bury FC said: "Bury Football Club wishes to condemn some of the supporter behaviour at our play-off Final at Ericstan Park on Saturday afternoon. We are a community club, and some of the scenes experienced in both the stands and again unfortunately on the pitch, are not acceptable.

Last night Wythenshawe Town posted on X: "Just want to say a massive thank you to the fans, volunteers, team, management and bar staff for today. Also a special thank you to the @buryfcofficial fan that stayed behind clearing up the rubbish in the bury end and the majority of Bury fans that
