'Burglar' climbs through McDonald's window and makes himself a burger

A man was arrested on suspicion of breaking into a McDonald's before making himself a burger. Officers attended a McDonald's restaurant in Bolton in the early hours of Saturday morning (February 8).

Greater Manchester Police says officers were first called out to reports of a man trying to smash a window at McDonald's with a brick. He was then seen climbing into the building through the drive-thru window, according to GMP.

When officers arrived, the man had allegedly made himself a burger. The 43-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of burglary.

He remains in custody for questioning this afternoon. A GMP Bolton spokesperson wrote on Facebook: "In the early hours this morning, officers were called to reports of a male attempting to smash a window at McDonalds with a brick, before climbing through the drive through window of McDonalds and making himself a burger.

"He wasn't lovin' it when he was arrested on suspicion of burglary before he managed to finish his happy meal! The male (aged 43) remains in custody for questioning."

The exact location of the McDonald's which was targeted is yet to be confirmed. GMP has been approached for further information.
